A wonderful visit!

Newport, OR
PSMCR
high 63, low 56 partly cloudy

We have been eagerly awaiting a visit from our daughter for a while now.  Everywhere we go, we stop to think if this would be a fun place to bring the kids.  We had lots of things planned for their short 4 day stay and we fit it all in, plus some!

First thing on the agenda was the beach!  All five dogs, four adults and lots of craft local brews made for a really fun time throwing Frisbees, balls and sticks.

These jellies washed up onshore by the millions, dried out and disappeared

Nick brought out his Ukulele and we had a sing along of sorts

Nick went for a chilly dip
Next up..Duck Pond Winery for a VIP wine tour and tasting with tapas

My shipment ready for pickup

Enjoying the wineries patio area

Isn't this a cute family?

Yaquina Head Lighthouse.  It was a beautiful sunny chilly day!

Fun at Cobble Beach

Love the sunsets
We watched a grey whale feeding in the kelp beds below from the high vantage point at Cape Perpetua.  Next time, we will do the hike down to the visitor center and back.  I love this area.  You can see for miles out over the ocean and down the coast.

The Rogue Brewery has been on our list for awhile.  We stopped in for appetizers, beer flights and to watch the World cup.  We tried just about every beer they had and had yummy apps.  It was a great way to spend an afternoon.

We picked up some of Rogue's crazier brews like Voodoo donut, Seal Monk ale and headed down to the beach.  I think we finally wore out the dogs.

Gidget all dressed up
The kids left bright and early after a big breakfast of crab Benedict for Nick and oatmeal for Ashley on Wednesday morning.  I was so sad to see them go as the visit was way too short.  The good news is I will see them in less than a month in Salt Lake for two before we head out to take the Northern route to the East coast and winter in Florida and Texas.  Looking forward to getting back on the road again!

In the meantime, we are very busy with various committees we were volunteered for here at the resort.  I am on owner's week committee for a week long celebration of the resort with beach parties, jazz concerts, wine and cheese reception, a play, a pet parade and a craft show.  I am also on the committee to figure out the process and procedures for the new cable company.  Every site must have a digital box to receive cable.  The owners are easy, its the rentals that complicates things.  Eric is busy helping out with various projects around the resort that require a little muscle.  The summer is certainly flying by!
Gonna miss these sunsets!

    1. Maybe a good sunset in TX is in store for the winter. Have you ever been to Bentsen Palms?
