Gettysburg, a Town is changed forever

Artillery Ridge Campground
temps in the mid 70's
With abundant rain

It has been balmy here.  Like a Caribbean day.  The wind blows warm and the skies are misty.  The Weather Channel keeps saying a big storm is coming.  It came, but was nothing like a winter storm on the Oregon Coast.

This barn has a cannonball hole

We rented the audio auto tour CD from the front desk and headed out to relive the three day battle of Gettysburg,  It was amazing to see the battlefields and understand what happened during July 1 to the 3rd, 1863.  We made several stops and wandered about where we were able.

We did a podcast for Ashley's classroom at the sight of the Gettysburg Address.  The students enjoyed it and asked lots of questions.  I am not quite the history buff Eric is, but I learned a lot on this stop.

Still looking for a Quilt Shop.  I have some ideas and can't wait to see if i can make them so...

  1. Haven't been back to Gettysburg since the early 1990's. I remember thinking the audio driving tour was great.

  2. Did you manage to watch the Cyclorama? It was pretty amazing.
A visit to Gettysburg by all Americans in my opinion is a must.
