Watson Lake and better days!

From Fort Nelson we traveled to Watson Lake, Yukon Territories.  The drive was approx 300 miles and took about 7-8 hours.  As soon as we left Fort Nelson, we saw our first caribou hanging out on the side of the road.  The scenery turned pretty, in spite of the rain.  The temps were low, in the 30's.

We moved on to the Tetsa River Campground and got the best cinnamon rolls and coffee for $9.00.  The park is run on generator and the owner lives on site year round.  Very nice.
We drove past Stone Mountain.  We didn't see any of the Stone Sheep.

On the side of the road, there are hundreds of wood bison.  These bison were brought back into the area to re-populate the herds.  They look healthy and we saw several babies.

Yes, we came a little early.  That was snow!

We went past the Liard Hot Springs, Muncho Lake, and on to Watson Lake.  It was an "interesting" place.  We stayed at the Downtown RV Park, next to the Signpost forest.  It was the only one open and is a dirt parking lot with hookups.  The Signpost forest was a time killer and a way to stretch out those legs.  The pups enjoyed the walk.  The RV park is across from Wye Lake.  It was frozen over.
